Lukaku double boosts Belgium
Belgium 3 Panama 0 (Sochi) A second-half brace from Romelu Lukaku helped Belgium to a 3-0 win over Panama in Sochi. The Panamanians held Belgium to a goalless first half with a crucial interception in front of goal by Torres in the 21st minute and a save from Penedo as Hazard ran into the box and whacked the ball towards the near post, but 2 minutes into the second half the ball fell to Dries Mertens whose dipping volley from the corner of the box broke the deadlock. In the 54th minute Carrasco got behind the Belgian defence but was blocked by Courtois and in the 69th minute Lukaku dived to head de Bruyne's delightful cross into the back of the net. In the 75th minute, Hazard ran into the Panama half and threaded the ball to Lukaku who dinked the keeper for the third. |

Tunisia double-Kaned
Harry Kane scored twice as England left it late to dispose of Tunisia. England got off to an explosive start and after a swift attack in the 5th minute, Lingard's sidefooter from 6 yards out was denied by the trailing foot of Hassen in the Tunisia goal. In the 11th minute Hassen majestically kept out Stone's firm header but Harry Kane was on hand to open the scoring for England. Ben Mustapha replaced the injured Hassen and had to get down to hold onto a crisp Henderson volley form 25 yards out in the 18th minute. England were unable to convert their chances and in the 33rd minute when Tunisia were awarded a soft penalty, Ferjani Sassi dispatched the ball into the corner of the net past the diving Pickford. A minute before the break, Lingard poked a long ball past the onrushing keeper but his effort hit the wrong side of the post. After the break, Tunisia played with more belief but England didn't give up and in stoppage time a corner kick was knocked on for Kane to stoop and head in the winner at the far post. |
