England cruise to Caribbean victory

Trinidad & Tobago 0 England 3 (Port of Spain 1 June 2008 )
Trinidad and Tobago offered little resistance as England ended their season with a 3-0 win at Port-of-Spain. Gareth Barry met a cross on the volley to open the scoring from close range in the 12th minute and 3 minutes later Jermain Defoe breached the T&T defence to slot the ball in across the keeper giving England an unassailable lead. Four minutes into the second-half a cross was headed back for Defoe to convert the 3rd for the visitors. Both teams made several changes in the 2nd half as the home crowd were treated to an appearance by the retired Dwight Yorke.
In other weekend international matches Sweden suffered a 1-0 home defeat against Ukraine while Brazil narrowly defeated Canada 3-2 in the USA. Croatia were held 1-1 in Hungary, and France fired blanks in a home draw against Paraguay, while Germany beat Serbia 2-1 in Gelsenkirchen.
