Chile became the 3rd South American team to qualify winning a pulsating match 4-2 in Colombia. Diego Forlan scored a last minute penalty to give Uruguay a 2-1 win in Ecuador, and Argentina who had been pegged back to 1-1 in the 90th minute stole a winner against Peru with the last kick of the match in stormy Buenos Aires.
