Swedes dent Greek crown

Greece began the defence of their title with a defeat against Sweden. The Greeks played defensively and only tested Isaksson once with a shot from Basinas in the closing moments of the first half which the Swede did well to get down and parry for a corner. Sweden finally broke the Greek defence in the 68th minute when Zlatan Ibrahimovic played the ball off Larsson to unleash a sweet shot into the top left corner. Four minutes later Greece fell apart when they failed to defend a shot from Ljungberg, and Elmander deflected the ball towards goal enabling Hansson to scramble in the second. (Sweden 2 Greece 0)
