England fightback foils foe

England 3 Scotland 2 - Webmley friendly 14 August 2013

Scotland twice took the lead against England at Wembley, but debutant Rickie Lambert scored the winner for the hosts with his first touch at international level . A Joe Hart blunder let in James Morrison's shot from just outside the area after a corner in the 11th minute to send the visiting fans into raptures, but in the 29th minute Theo Walcott got on the end of a Cleverly pass, ran into the box, dragged the ball back to beat a defender and rolled in the equaliser. Four minutes after the break Scotland were ahead again when Kenny Miller turned his marker on the 18-yard line and fired the ball into the bottom corner of the net, but 4 minutes later Gerrard floated a free kick into the box for Danny Welbeck to head down past McGregor in the Scotland goal and in the 70th minute Lambert grabbed the winner with a thumping header from a corner kick 3 minutes after being introduced to international football. Lambert hit the post from a low Zaha cross in stoppage time as England pushed forward to extend their lead.
