Robinho on target again

Robinho was once again on target to give Brazil a narrow victory against Ecuador.
Elizaga made some outstanding double saves to keep Brazil out in the first half but was finally beaten when Robinho squeezed the ball in from the penalty spot in the 54th minute. Brazil will go on to meet Chile in the quarter final.

Mexico hold on to top spot

Mexico 0-0 Chile

Mexico were happy to hold on to a goalless draw against Chile and finish top of their group.
Chile also qualified with this result. Ochoa in the Mexican goal showed agility to get down and deflect a low in-swinging free kick from Tello in the 17th minute and made another save to keep out a close-range header n the 52nd minute, but as the match progressed both teams seemed happy to run the clock down and look forward to the quarter finals.
