Tunisia get late boostA last minute winner broke Nigerien hearts and put Tunisia in poll position to qualify from group C. In the 4th minute Msakni picked up possession 30 yards from goal and walked his way into the box unchallenged before sliding the ball past Kassaly but 5 minutes later Mathlouthi misjudged a high ball and Ngounou levelled the match with a looping header from the bounce. Abdennour rolled the ball off the base of the Niger post in the 64th minute and despite Niger threatening occasionally on the break, it was Tunisia who were mounting pressure and got their reward in the 90th minute when Jemaa picked up a pass, kept his composure and buried the ball past Dauda. Tunisia almost grabbed another in stoppage time but Darragi hit the underside of the bar. (Tunisia 2 Niger 1) |

Gabon comeback sends Morocco homeAn enthralling match in Liberville saw co hosts Gabon clinch victory with virtually the last kick of the game. In the 23rd minute Kharja controlled the ball with a great first-touch to create space and fire into the bottom corner giving the visitors a lead which they held onto until the 77th minute when a header from a throw-in was flicked into the path of Aubameyang who steadied himself and smashed the ball in with a volley to send the crowd wild. Two minutes later Cousin turned in the box, wrong-footed the keeper and scored in off the post, and with 5 minutes remaining Madinda missed a glorious opportunity to put the game to bed when he volleyed over the bar. Morocco were awarded a penalty for handball in the 90th minute and Kharja rolled the ball in from the spot to claim his 2nd of the night and give Morocco a lifeline in the competition but 8 minutes into stoppage time Bruno Zita Mbanangoye curled a free-kick into the top corner to send Gabon through with Tunisia and Morocco out of the competition.
