Sadio Diallo scored twice as Guinea thumped Botswana 6-1 in their 2nd match of group D. Marumo dived to push away a firm shot from Mamadou Bah in the 15th minute but seconds later Diallo slid in front of his marker to connect with a low cross and leave the keeper with no chance from close range. In the 21st minute Guinea keeper Yattara gave away a penalty which he initially saved but Selowane dispatched the retake into the top corner to put Botswana on level terms for the next 6 minutes until Diallo got on the end of another low cross to turn the ball into the roof of the net. Camara received a quick pass from a free-kick and thumped the ball past the keeper at the near post with 3 minutes of the half remaining and matters got worse for Botswana in stoppage time as Motsepe was shown a straight red for a dangerous tackle and Traore curled the resulting free-kick in off the base of the post. Feindouno struck the underside of the bar in the 58th minute but the ball was adjudged not to have crossed the line and Guinea had to wait until the 84th minute to add to their tally when a fierce shot from Bah was deflected into the net and 2 minutes later it was 6 when Soumah received the ball in the box and found the far net. Two goals in the 2nd half against Mali sent Ghana to the top of group D with one match-day remaining. Mali came perilously close to scoring in the first half when Diabate's free kick in the 38th minute struck both posts, but it was Ghana who opened the scoring when Asamoah Gyan curled his 63rd minute free kick into the top corner and in the 76th minute Andre Ayew twisted and turned in the box before squeezing the ball in past the Mali keeper Diakite at the near post to seal victory for the Black Stars.
