Gabon win group

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the only goal of the match to give Gabon their 3rd win in a row. With both Gabon and Tunisia already through to the next round the co hosts needed only a draw to remain top of their group but in the 62nd minute Aubameyang's shot from outside the 18 yard box sent the Tunisian keeper the wrong way and Gabon were ahead. Five minutes later Jridi spilled a shot from Palun and Cousin's follow-up from the rebound was deflected for a corner but one goal was enough to send the crowd home happy. (Gabon 1 Tunisia 0)

A matter of pride

Morocco picked up a consolation win with a single goal against Niger. Playing to avoid finishing bottom of the group, Maazou clipped the Morocco crossbar with a two-touch volley in the 37th minute and 3 minutes after the break Karim Lancina's blistering free kick was palmed away by the Moroccan keeper Mohamed Amsif. Nigerien keeper Daouda got in the way of Boussoufa's toe-poke in the 58th minute but the deadlock was broken in the 78th minute Chamakh found Younes Belhanda whose sliding shot hit the roof of the net. (Morocco 1 Niger 0)
