Egypt keep cup

The Pharaohs of Egypt won the Africa Cup of Nations for an unprecedented 3rd time in a row with a 1-0 win over an energetic young Ghana team in the heat of Angola. The experienced Egyptians kept the Black Stars of Ghana at bay allowing them very few openings and with 20 minutes left Hassan Shehata sent on super sub and top goal scorer Mohamed Gedo who in the 85th minute played a one-two with Zidan and curled the ball into the far corner past the diving Kingson in the Ghana goal to win the match and tournament for Egypt. (Egypt 1 Ghana 0)

Nigeria third in Africa

The Super Eagles of Nigeria won the 3rd place play off in the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations with a win over Algeria. The first half produced very little to get the crowd excited, but 5 minutes into the 2nd half Zemmomouche in the Algeria goal blocked a free-kick from Taiwo and Nsofor hit the rebound into the ground and off the crossbar. Five minutes later Nsofor ran into the box and slotted the ball past Zemmomouche for the only goal of the match to give Nigeria victory.
(Nigeria 1 Algeria 0)
