Angola get ahead

Manchester United-bound Manucho scored a brace as Angola came from behind to beat Senegal in Tamale. A minute after heading a free header high over the crossbar, Diouf floated in a cross in the 20th minute which was headed back across the goal for Abdoulaye Faye to nod in, but Manucho levelled the score for Angola with a powerful header in the 50th minute and scrambled the ball over the line in the 67th minute when Sylva failed to punch clear a corner. Amado Flavio punished the tall Senegalese players for not marking him, with a header in the 78th minute to secure the points for Angola. (Angola 3 Senegal 1)

South Africa need time

An improving South Africa found Tunisia too hot to handle. Dos Santos flung himself to meet a free-kick and score with a glancing header in the 8th minute and was instrumental in the 2nd goal in the 32nd minute when his low shot came off the post for Chaouki Ben Saada to turn in. Two minutes later Dos Santos intercepted a back pass and rounded the keeper to slot in the 3rd. Morris who was responsible for the back pass, nearly atoned for his mistake shortly after when his header clipped the Tunisia crossbar. Dos Santos was denied his hat-trick as he slipped in the 64th minute when he ran onto the ball for what would have been a tap in. South Africa pushed forward in the closing stages and Steven Pienaar held off 3 defenders to shoot along the ground for Mphela to stick out a foot and score for Bafana Bafana with 3 minutes to go. (Tunisia 3 South Africa 1)
