Not enough for brave Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe nearly made it to the last 8 by beating and eliminating World Cup qualifiers Ghana. For most of the match Zimbabwe were the better side, and took the lead on the hour mark when a Ghanaian defender could only head Chimedza's shot into the back of the net. Eight minutes later Benjani got on the end of a long ball to beat the keeper and double their lead. Deep into stoppage time, Baba Adamu chested the ball and volleyed in a consolation goal for Ghana, but it was too little too late for the Black Stars. (Zimbabwe 2 Ghana 1)
