Respectful exit for Libya
When Kone went on a run from the left and Gazalla couldn't deal with his shot, Drogba had the easy task of scoring from the rebound in the 10th minute of a match which Ivory Coast were expected to win with ease. However, Libya equalized with 4 minutes of the first half remaining when a Khames Ezwae header crept in under the goalkeeper's body, and could have taken the lead in the second half before Yaya Toure won the match for Ivory Coast with a looping header that beat the defenders on the goal line and put Libya out of the competition. (Ivory Coast 2 Libya 1)

Cameroon march on
Togo survived 67 minutes against Cameroon until Eto'o smashed the ball into the top left corner from just out side the area. Meyong's cheeky back-heal sealed victory for Cameroon in the 85th minute. Last gasp win for Guinea
Guinea came back from behind to win in stoppage time and end the hopes of Zambia. Elijah Tana lost his marker to put Zambia ahead in the 33rd minute with a firm header from a corner-kick. When the Zambian goalkeeper gave away a penalty in the 73rd minute Faindouno coolly sent him the wrong way. Guinea didn't settle for the draw and it was Faindouno who broke Zambian hearts with a shot that came off the underside of the crossbar and was clearly over the goal line. The win puts Guinea through to the next round at the expense of Zambia. (Guinea 2 Zambia 1)

In the 57th minute Benachour fired the ball into to roof of the goal from inside the area to put his side into the quarter finals. (Tunisia 2 South Africa 0)
